Welcome to Turkey
The abolition of Covid 19 restrictions in the world helped us to take a deep breath and go on our final Erasmus+ „ Utilizing the computers as a tool in studying – own knowledge acquiring“ project visit to Turkey.
The visit was full of planned out as well as cultural activities. This visit was under the title "Digital age for better Religion Studies", hence students performed CLIL lessons in connection with religion studies.
The mobility in Türkiye was held between 1st - 7th of May, 2022. Our studies were about religion lesson so it was a perfect period for Türkiye since the first 3 days were Ramadan Festival. We started our studies at the conference room of the hotel because the schools were closed because of the festival.
Kaunas John Paul II gymnasium presented the biography of John Paul II the patron of gymnasium and his pastoral path. The second lesson was dedicated to Christianity, monotheistic religion, the background of the religion, the main truths of faith and the most important places for Christians not only in Lithuania but also in the whole world.
Other project partners were also creative in the diversity and technologies too. The Bulgarian team performed two religion lessons, where they spoke about Islam and Buddhism, the following lesson was about other Bulgarian national religious holidays. Students from Greece presented different religions in the world while the second lesson contained the information about importance of praying and saints. The hosts of the visit held the lessons about the Islam and the month of Ramadan which was ending during our stay. The second lesson was tightly connected to the first one because the Prophet of Muhammad as the pioneer of Islam was presented.
The great staff and well planned agenda allowed the project participants not only to learn but also to see local culture, famous places, to cook and taste traditional dishes, visit the mosque and even go on karting. Even though the warm weather didn‘t please us but it didn‘t stop us from visiting the pearl of the Black sea located in the North of Turkey, Cape Sinope. It is home to famous philosopher Diogenes. At the end of the visit we became a strong, well-formed and friendly team.
